ARMS, Broadhembury, Near Honiton, Devon Tel: 01404 841267 Although still seen by the residents of this charming thatched village as their local, such is the reputation that this 15th century Inn has deservedly acquired for fine food, that is it almost essential to book if you wish to be sure of a table. Cuisine is very much fish oriented, quite often with a Scandinavian leaning - 'graval lax' for instance - and a set 3-course meal at lunch time or in the evening is £21 at the time of writing. A bar snack menu is also available - and the delicious open sandwiches which can be eaten in the very attractive garden on a summer's day take some beating. Multi-award winning pub recommended by all Good Food and Pub Guides. No credit cards taken and closed Sunday evening. |
